  • Der Grund für die Leistungsbegrenzung ist eine durch Ummagnetisierungsverluste im Kernmaterial entstehende Erwärmung.
    Wird die angegebene Leistung überschritten, steigen die Verluste im Kernmaterial, was wiederum zur Erwärmung des Kernmaterials führt.
    Bei Erreichen der Curie-Temperatur > 130 °C verringert sich die Permeabilität des Kerns. Das SWV steigt stark an und ist somit ein Indikator für eine zu hohe Kerntemperatur.
    Nach Abkühlung des Kernmaterials hat der Kern wieder seine spezifische Permeabilität. Das SWV geht wieder auf normale Werte zurück.
    Dieser Vorgang ist reversibel.
